Practice for the 2009 Season to Begin

Practice for the 2009 season will begin on Monday 1/5/09 at 3pm at the Bellarmine baseball field. Be there by 2:50 and bring your cleats. We will be practicing Mondays and Wednesdays at 3pm, as well as touch on Friday morning for the Bellarmine guys. We will be accepting new players through out the season. 2008 Alumni Game a Success!

The 2008 College Park Alumni Game was held on 12/24 at Bellarmine and was a resounding success.  This was the first time that the alumni game was allowed at Bellarmine and over 20 alumni showed up for the run despite the windy and chilly conditions.  Hopefully, this will help this year’s team catapult into the 2009 season as several returners were able to learn from the vets.  Great job everyone!

Fall Touch Rugby, Tuesdays & Thursdays

We are currently playing touch rugby on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Henry Schmidt Park in Santa Clara from 6:00 to dark. Come on out and bring your friends!

Sevens Season Has Begun!

College Park current players and alumni are practicing at Kirk Park at 6pm on Thursdays in anticipation of the Summer 7s Season. College Park has two squads entered, one competing in the highschool division, and one in the men’s second tier. After the first weekend, both teams walked away with 2-1 records, and will look to improve at the next Palo Alto tournament on July 12th. Come out to practice anytime, we still have plenty of rugby to play this summer!

College Park Alumni Starting for Santa Clara University

On Saturday, the current College Park team watched three alumni play for Santa Clara University, who is presently ranked #4 in the nation for D2 collegiate rugby.  Matt Salvidar ‘04 (SCU captian), Scotty Peterson ‘04, and Pat Haggerty ‘05 all started for SCU who rolled the University of San Francisco to the tune of 64-0.  All three scored, while College Park  looked on.  Congrats to Matt, Scotty, & Pat on a great win!

The ‘07-’08 season has begun!

The 2008 season is underway! The team is practicing at 4:00pm at Willow Glen Highschool on Mondays and Wednesdays, next to the football field. We’re still accepting new players, so come to practice or send us a message at collegeparkrugby@yahoo.com if you have any questions. See you then!

Fundraiser Sat. 3/10/07

Our fundraiser is this Saturday at 2516 Samaritan Dr Suite F Los Gatos, Ca 95124.  Make sure to finish selling all of your fundraiser forms that were handed out at last week’s and Monday’s practices.  Either collect the checks yourself, and return them to the coaches, or have your buyers bring them to the event.  Remember, selling as many as you can will be worth your wild.  I’ve emailed more flyers today.  Also, I will have all the new merchandise at Monday’s practice including balls.  As for this weekend’s game, expect an AM kickoff.  Stay tuned for more info.

Website profiles to be updated 3/5/07

If you want to have your name and profile updated to the website, you must have your paperwork and dues turned in by the end of practice on Monday 3/5/07.  I will also be taking pictures for the profiles at practice.  In the following days, I will update everybody’s profile on the website.  Click on the picture to see what your profile will look like.

Practice Mon. 2/26/07

Practice will, as usual, be at 3:30 at Washington Park. We will have a reporter from the San Jose Community Newspapers on hand to take pictures and interviews for articles in the Willow Glen Times, Campbell Times, Almaden Times, and Blossom Hills Times. Wear your practice jerseys (if you have bought them yet. bring your waivers and dues if you have not). We are still accepting new players, so get your buddies out there.
